The course of study in Cultural Heritage is a three-year course aimed at training experts in the cultural heritage sector, who will be able to find professional opportunities as qualified collaborators in the Superintendencies, museums, libraries, archaeological parks, and local authorities.
The training course is designed so that the student acquires the indispensable foundation theoretical knowledge and technical skills required. The course offers a range of subject choices ranging from classical antiquity to the contemporary age, divided into two curricula: archaeological and historical-artistic. The student acquires a basic knowledge of archaeological and artistic heritage, archives, libraries, as well as their management and enhancement. moreover, he/she acquires the historical, literary and geographical notions indispensable to understand and contextualize them.
In the archaeology curriculum, aspects related to the main methods of archaeological research and analysis are explored, with reference to historical, social and cultural phenomena of the ancient and medieval ages. In the historical-artistic curriculum, aspects related to the main methods of research and analysis in the historical-artistic field are explored, with reference to historical, social and cultural phenomena from the Middle Ages and the modern and contemporary age. Teaching is organised in a traditional way, with lectures, but also with practical exercises for the main disciplines. The training course also includes professional experiences, such as excavation activities, workshops, work experiences and internships.
