1st level Professional Master Programme Mater Matuta – Curatorial Practice and Contemporary Philosophy of the Mediterranean directed by Leonardo Caffo and promoted by the ABADIR Academy explores the study and practice of curatorial studies through the philosophical analysis of the concept of the contemporary starting from a Mediterranean perspective.

The master has an interdisciplinary approach and ranges from contemporary arts to design, up to publishing, art direction, passing through the reinterpretation of food, events, music, fashion and photography within the frame of the contemporary. The goal is to train curators, strategic consultants, creative directors in the museum, corporate, publishing and/or social media fields.

The course takes place partly face-to-face, partly online and is divided into: a first theoretical part, with immersive courses that can be used online and/or in-person at the ABADIR headquarters in Sant’Agata Li Battiati (Catania); an itinerant part, with visits at partner realities and site-specific experiences between Italy and Albania; and a final planning part, in Sicily, for the development of a curatorial output.
