Professional Profile

Expert in the design, production, testing and maintenance of biomedical, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative devices. The role includes competencies in the production, maintenance and technical support of diagnostic and biomedical equipment.

Qualification Awarded

Diploma of “Higher Technician for the design, production, testing and maintenance of biomedical diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative devices and biotechnological systems.” The acquired competencies correspond to Level 5 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), issued by the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit.

Study Plan

The training programme has a total duration of 2,000 hours, structured over four semesters, and is designed according to a competency‑based educational model aimed at developing knowledge and practical skills applicable in professional contexts.

The teaching methodology prioritizes an experiential approach through practical learning activities, laboratories, project work and problem‑solving, fostering the acquisition of both technical and transversal skills.

At least 60% of the teaching staff consists of professionals from companies and partner organizations of the ITS Academy, who bring into the classroom the competencies, methodologies and technologies used in real working environments. The remaining teaching activities are delivered by university lecturers and school system teachers, ensuring a balance between theoretical preparation and practical application.

Two tutors will support you throughout the entire programme, both in the classroom and during the internship. They will liaise with teachers to accelerate and facilitate learning and coordinate the different training activities.

Admission Requirements

A five‑year high school diploma is required, or a four‑year vocational education diploma plus a one‑year IFTS course. Admission is subject to passing the selection procedures outlined in the call for applications, aimed at assessing candidates’ basic skills, aptitudes and motivation.
