Course: Art didactics and cultural mediation of the artistic heritage

The training objective of the course is providing students with the methodologies and tools used by museums and school institutions to make collections, exhibitions, and in general any type of historical, scientific and artistic-cultural exhibition, accessible to a wider public.

The museum is conceived as a “culture producer”, a melting pot of educational but also playful-recreational initiatives and stimulates the activation of new forms of communication that are accompanied by practical activities to promote innovative learning methods aimed at a varied (by age, interests and needs) audience.

Through theoretical and laboratory disciplines, the course is aimed at the design and implementation of educational interventions that take into account different types of users (children, adults, elderly people, foreigners, differently-abled people, etc.), using laboratories and multimedia dissemination and didactic supports, thanks to notions of museum education, history of art, museology and management of exhibition systems, mass media theory and method, and philosophy of art.

To these are added in-depth workshops on the issues arising from new media in relation to art communication and workshops with contemporary artists that allow experimentation with the complex mechanisms of current artistic poetics. Students also have the opportunity to engage in curricular training internships at museums and public and private institutions in view of their future professional activity.
